L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Rebel Red

I know, I know- I am so behind the times with this one. The L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipstick have been going strong for around 10 months now, but I wanted to feature them in a post because I am really loving sheer lipsticks for this Spring(trend forecast alert!).

I got the colour Rebel Red, and I love the packaging! It looks(as with all L'Oreal products) very sleek, and much more expensive than it actually is. The lid snaps on shut, and pretty tightly too, so it will not fall off if you chuck it into your bag for a day out.

In all Superdrug stores, there is a section that sells discounted goods because they are damaged. I am not ashamed to say that I picked this little lippy up in the discounted section. As you can see from the picture, the lipstick looks pristine  except from a dent in the product. However, this will easily be rubbed off, on application. I paid £3, but the regular retail price is around £7.99(depending on where you buy).

Top; without flash, bottom; with flash.
As you can see from the 'with flash' pictures, the lipstick is super shiny and moisturising. It is sort of a lip salve but more pigmented.
The top swatch shows the lipstick lightly swatched, and the bottom one shows it heavily swatched.

Here it is on the lips.

What do you think? Also, how are you liking my attempt at better swatches?

My Favourite Lipsicks; December

I love wearing lipstick all year round, but there are so many opportunities to wear lipstick in the Winter that I thought I would let you know my favourite picks. I have chosen two lipsticks for this December, one for Christmas, and one for New Years Eve.

Lipstick Review; Kate Moss Rimmel 107

Hi guys! So, the other day I popped into my local Boots and picked up one of the uber-hyped Kate Moss lipsticks in the matte collection.

I have wanted one of these for a while, ever since the line was launched, really, but somehow I never actually got round to buying one. But now I have, I can finally say that they do indeed live up to my expectations.

Circa. 1950 Anyone?

Hi Everyone!! I feel like it's been such a long time since I posted about beauty and make-up - I feel like all I talk about is books! So, for all of you who have been missing those beauty posts, I thought that I would get back into them with a 1950's inspired hair and make-up tutorial. I have used some pictures from one of my favourite websites; The Beauty Department, but this is only because any picture that they take is probably ten times better than mine will be. But I promise, in the future I will definitely be posting more of 'my own' make up looks.

So, what is more 1950's than a bright red lip, classic eyeliner flick, and a bright red lip.

So, first: the hair. This look is a preppy but still classy, 1950's ponytail, but taken to the next level with a slight beehive, and some curly ends.

All that glitters isn't gold; it's PINK!

Hello to my lovely readers, how are you today?

I had an mediocre day, nothing too exciting, but nothing that made me super depressed! However, when I got back home after going out this morning, I was in the mood to try something that I have wanted to do for ages; Glitter Lips! After being inspired by a photo on Tumblr I wanted to try out this look for myself, and I must say that I am quite happy with the results.

To achieve this look, I applied the Barry M Touch of Magic Lipstick which turns to a hot pink on the alkali of my lips, followed by a clear gloss and I then patted some pink body glitter onto my lips with my fingers. If you wanted to replicate the look, any hot pink shade of lipstick would do, or you could even experiment with a different shade of lipstick and glitter altogether.

I think that this look would be really gorgeous on New Years Eve, or a special party, but not on a date if you're planning to smooch! The way that the glitter catches the light is simply stunning, and I can bet that you'll catch everyone's eye if you do decide to give it a go. I certainly enjoyed wearing the glitter because it made me feel very confident and girly, and even my friend commented that I looked like a princess!

I hope you like the results if try it out, and leave a comment to tell me what you thought!Have a nice Friday tommorow and speak to you soon, Jenny xx

(just a little side-note, I took the images myself, and if you like this sort of post let me know and I'll try and keep them up! xx)
